Inauguration Day

I hope everyone understands the historical significance of today's events. Regardless of political affiliation this is a proud day in the history of our country....that is coming from a fiscally conservative, socially moderate Independant/Republican. And the fact that the inauguration fell one day after the Martin Luther King Holiday is absolutely fitting. I get choked up every time I watch the "I Have a Dream" speech.
Every time I hear someone making a clear distinction between people based solely on the color of their skin, or worse yet backwards folks who insinuate their superiority based soley on their whiteness, I know we have a long way to go. That being said, I think this is a great start to a more national color-blindness and regaining international respect in the world.
So say a prayer for the health and effectiveness of the 44th President of the United States...it is in all our interests that he has our support and best wishes!
